What is a trampoline park?

  1. Imagine all the fun you had as a kid on your neighbor’s backyard trampoline.
  2. Now take that fun indoors, and combine it wall-to-wall with a series of other trampolines.
  3. Add a healthy dose of kid’s birthday parties and your favorite concession stand foods, and you start to get the idea.

Minnesota’s trampoline parks are indoor playgrounds of sorts with a heavy focus on bouncing, jumping, flipping, and silly fun. They’re fun for both kids and grown-ups and are a great way to get some exercise in the middle of our chilly Minnesota winters.

Read on for all your best options in the Twin Cities metro.

Rockin’ Jump Trampoline Park

When Rockin’ Jump opened its first Minnesota location in Eagan, it quickly jumped in as the top trampoline park destination in the Twin Cities Metro. This smaller national chain has features that no other park in the area does—including an inflatable ninja wall and an air-filled multi-sport court for soccer, volleyball, dodgeball, and basketball.

Rockin’ Jump also has a tots area for kids six and under and early morning hours for “junior jumpers,” with discounts for toddlers and parents to enjoy the park when it’s a little less busy.

Skyzone Trampoline Park

Sky Zone was the first trampoline park to enter the Twin Cities market and has since expanded to four locations around the Metro. This national chain of trampoline parks is large, indoor warehouse-style facilities that feature wall-to-wall trampolines and freestyle gym time.

Twin Cities locals like Sky Zone because it’s clean, the service from their staff is always high quality and friendly, and they’re open until 9 PM daily. It’s a chance to send all the little tikes home and let the grown-ups have a fun, unique date night.

Local Tip: Check out each location’s individual events calendars for Glow-Zone events. The parks are lit in black lights and glow sticks for special glow-in-the-dark fun.

Urban Air Trampoline and Adventure Park

While we love a good jump-fest at the trampoline park, occasionally, we need a break from the bounce. A perk of visiting one of the two Twin Cities Urban Air locations is that along with wall-to-wall trampolines, ninja courses, dodgeball, and slam dunk areas, they also have some non-jumping activities.

Go-karts, a big top trapeze, a ropes course, and indoor climbing walls are all features you’ll find in addition to the trampoline park. There’s also an arcade and concessions area for snacks and party food.

Urban Air’s pricing is separated by the type of attractions, with Deluxe, Ultimate, and Platinum pricing depending on which activities you’d like to enjoy. Some of the activities have height restrictions, so call before you go to find out which package is the best pricing for your family.

They also offer a $20 monthly all-access membership with special member-only jump times.

Zero Gravity Trampoline Park

With more than 11,000 square feet of trampoline surface, Zero Gravity Trampoline Park in Mounds View is one of the largest parks in the Twin Cities Metro. In addition, this locally-owned park features a dedicated dodgeball zone (watch out for some extra-competitive players here!), a basketball slam dunk area, a climbing wall, and a foam pit.

Zero Gravity is one of the most popular Twin Cities birthday party destinations for kids, so expect to have weekend crowds. Their regular weekday hours extend from 3-8 PM. We highly recommend a visit during one of these off-peak times for more space and playtime.

Perpetual Motion Gymnastics Center

While not exclusively a trampoline park, we included Perpetual Motion Gymnastics Center on this list as one more option for parents who might be looking for more structured indoor play (or ninja gymnastics camp). This popular Twin Cities gym offers springboard trampolines, recreational gymnastics equipment, and practice pits for kids of all ages.

Registered members can enjoy classes and camps for toddlers up to 12 years old. But we love Perpetual for the Open Gym hours. For just $12, kids can enjoy complimentary access to the entire facility to practice tumbling and jumping and get some great indoor exercise.
