During Valentine's day (Feb 14th), people ask if they want to be each other's Valentines. Valentine's day is celebrating young love, so people tell each other that they love each other (only if they are boyfriend-girlfriend). "Will you be my Valentine" is rarely spoken, but seen on many holiday items, asking if someone wants to be their "date" for that day.
